79 / THE HOLDING COMPANY
What a holding company means here
Stratos79 does not advise, consult or manage other people's money. It owns companies. The group buys controlling positions, starts ventures where nothing worth buying exists, and holds both on its own balance sheet.
There is no fund, so there is no fund life. Capital is permanent, returns are reinvested, and a company that compounds is simply kept. The only reason to sell is that the group is the wrong owner.
Operating decisions stay with the operators. The centre sets capital allocation, hiring standards for senior seats, and the reporting cadence. Nothing else.

79 / OPERATING MODEL
Acquire, build, compound
- 01
Acquire
The group buys controlling positions in trading businesses with contracted revenue. It pays for operations, not narrative, and keeps the operators who built them.
- 02
Build
Where nothing worth buying exists, Stratos79 starts the company itself. Engineers, capital and a first customer are in place before the venture is named.
- 03
Compound
Held companies buy from each other at arm's length: software from the studio, settlement from the payments business, finance from the treasury desk. Nothing is sold on a timetable.
79 / GOVERNANCE
How decisions are made
- 01
Board of the holding company
Four seats: the founder, two independent directors and the group finance lead. It approves acquisitions, disposals and any commitment above the group capital threshold.
- 02
Investment committee
Meets fortnightly. Every acquisition passes a written thesis, a downside case and an operator plan before capital moves.
- 03
Company boards
Each held company keeps its own board with a group-appointed chair. Managing directors report to that board, not to the centre directly.
- 04
Audit and risk
Annual external audit at holding level, quarterly management accounts from every company, and a single consolidated risk register reviewed twice a year.

79 / ORIGIN
Where the name comes from
Stratos is from the stratosphere, the layer beneath space. The group's office sits in the Space42 Arena Complex, so the name chose the address.
79 is the founder's birth year. He is a serial founder who was involved in most of the portfolio's ventures while they were still ideas, which is why the group builds as often as it buys.
Head office: Space42 Arena Complex, Al Raha Beach, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
